Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to support the procurement function by sourcing, purchasing, and expediting materials, components, and services required for industrial generator repairs and coil manufacturing. The successful candidate will ensure the timely availability of parts to support onsite repair teams and workshop operations, maintain cost-effective purchasing practices while ensuring supplier quality standards are met, and assist with maintaining accurate procurement records, supplier communication, and inventory control.
Responsibilities:
- Develop seasonal sales strategies and detailed weekly demand plans.
- Align marketing requirements with internal stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for export customers, maintaining clear communication and high service standards.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, growers, and suppliers.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within export markets.
- Negotiate pricing and volumes to maximise sales performance and grower returns.
- Manage stock levels, claims, and trade agreements to minimise commercial risk.
- Present market insights, sales performance, and key data to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee customer orders, invoicing, claims, and debtors administration.
- Prepare and maintain accurate account reports, forecasts, and key performance metrics.
- Support the finance team in resolving debtor queries and managing overdue accounts.
- Accountable for approximately 20% of total export sales volume.
- Make strategic and operational decisions with direct financial impact.
- Handle a complex portfolio requiring strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field (advantageous)
- Basic understanding of engineering, electrical, or mechanical terminology (advantageous)
- 1–2 years’ experience in purchasing, stores, or supply chain, preferably within an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial repair environment
